Research Paper Publication by Staff
Prof. M. M. Bhoomkar participated in research festival “Avishkar 2010” competition at Doctoral level & presented his research work, “A Noval Approach in Printing Technology” held at Solapur University during 10-13 Jan. 2010.
Mrs. S.S. Sane has published two research papers in the International Journal of Engineering Research and Industrial Applications. She has also published one research paper in the International conference EUROTHERM 2008, Netherlands.
Mr. R. L. Edlabadkar has published two research papers in the International Journal of Engineering Research and Industrial Applications. She has also published one research paper in the International conference EUROTHERM 2008, Netherlands.
Mr. A. P .Kaldate and Mr. N.G.Jaiswal published a research paper titled ‘Verification of Vibration in adhesively bonded single lap joint by finite element and experimental analysis’ in an International conference, ICMME’08 at D.M.C.E.T. Pollachi, Tamilnadu, India on 18-20 December 2008.
Mr. A. P. Kaldate and Mr. M. M .Kamble published a research paper titled ‘Vibration Analysis of adhesively bonded single lap joint’ in an International conference, FAME’08 at M.S.E C, Sivakasi, Tamilnadu, India on 11-13 December 2008.
Mr. R. L. Edlabadkar has published two research papers in the International Journal of Engineering Research and Industrial Applications. He has also published one research paper each at International conference, EUROTHERM 2008, Netherlands and International conference ICRDME’08, Mohali, Punjab, India.
Mr. M. M. Bhoomkar has presented 04 technical papers at various International conferences in India. It includes one at I. I. Sc. Bangalore during 2-4 July 2008, Second at ‘Innovation 2008’ at SREC, COE, Kopargaon during 24-25 November 2008, third at International Ergonomics conference, HWWE 2008, at VIT Pune during 22-24 December 2008, and fourth at International conference on energy systems and Eco balance on 8th February 2009 at Mulshi Institute of Technology, Pune.
Mr. R .L. Edlabadkar has published a paper titled ‘ Computational Analysis of Natural Convection Heat Transfer with V-Fin’ at International Conference on recent Developments in Mechanical Engineering, ICRDME -2008, Shri Udhamsingh College of Engineering and Technology, Mohali, Punjab during 21-22 January 2008
Mr. N. G. Jaiswal received the Best Paper Award for the technical paper on “Structural Integrity Identification” at International pre-conference colloquium, Bengal Engineering & Science University, West Bengal in February 2007.
Research projects undertaken
Mrs. S.S.Sane has received a sanction of Rs. 1,75,000/- for a research proposal for Investigation of Horizontal Heat Sinks for Optimization.
Prof. R.L. Edlabadkar has received a sanction of Rs. 2,00,000/- for Investigation of V-Fin Arrays.
A proposal under MODROBS seeking grant of Rs. 600000 has been submitted to A.I.C.T.E. (Mrs. Sane and Mr. P.G. Kulkarni)
Recognisation of Staff by UoP
Prof G.S. Modak is recognized as a post graduate teacher in Mechanical Engineering w.e.f. Oct 2008.
Contribution of Departmental Staff as Resource Person
Prof. M. C. Nagoshe was invited as resource person for the workshop of M.D.C.G. at V.I.I.T., Pune, and G. M. at VPCOE, Baramati on 25th Feb. 2010.
Workshops Organized
MESA organized Two days workshop on 20th Feb. 2010 for F.E. to B.E. students of all branches , for constructing Robots as well as Grippers, followed by Prof. G.S. Modak‘s Lecture on “Concepts in kinematics related to robotics grippers”
S.E.(Mechanical)Syllabus revision and detailing workshop for the subjects (1) MDCG and (2) Geometric Modeling was held on 10th January 2009 at our college.
Mechanical Engineering Students Association has successfully organized workshop on ‘Robotics’ in the college on 31st Jan and 1st Feb 2009 for the students of all branches of our college.
The Mechanical Department had organized One Day Workshop to conduct Peer Review of the Revised F.E.Syllabus – 2008. Mr. Kamalesh Pande (Thermax Ltd.), Mr. R. K. Joshi (Tata Motors), Dr. P. Vasudevan (Retd. Prof.,IITB), Mr. Sunil Koranne (Feast Software Ltd.), Prof. R. M. Kelkar and Prof. Dr. Amarnath (IITB) were invited as experts for the same.

Mrs. S. S. Sane is awarded Ph. D. in Mechanical Engineering by the University of Pune in August 2009. Subsequently she is selected for the post of Professor of Mech. Engg. In our institute.
Mr. R. L. Edlabadkar is awarded Ph. D. in Mechanical Engineering by the University of Pune in September 2009.
Mr. N. S. Walimbe is awarded Ph. D. in Mechanical Engineering by IIT, Bombay in Dec. 2009.
Mr. M. M. Kamble has completed M. Tech (Mechanical Engg.) at Govt. College of Engg. Pune.
Mr. A. V. Chirmule has completed M. E. (Production Engg.) at Govt. College of Engg. Pune.

Students achievements
Prasanna Datar (S.E. Mechanical) won the second prize in state level debate competition held at furgusson college Pune, He also achieved a certificate of merit in Talent search- 2010 competition conducted by Chankya Mandal Pune.
T.E. Mech. students Mr. Aditya Joshi, Mr. mayur Wagh, Mr. Akshay Gangwal participated in the Techfest-2010 held at IIT, Pavai.
T.E. Mech. students Mr. Sanket Naidu for badminton and Mr. Chinmay Diwan , Mr. Amit godbole & Mr. Rohan Shah for volleyball, actively participated in ZEST-2010 held at COEP, Pune
Final year students (2009 pass-out) Mr. Hegade, Mr. Mankar, Mr. Waghchaure and Mr. Shah secured the first prize in the SAE Western region Projects Competitition at PES Modern C.O.E. Pune in August 2009, under the guidance of Prof. G. S. Modak and Prof. Dr. Mrs. Vrunda Joshi. Their project demonstrating working of ‘Spherical Robot’ was much appreciated by the experts.
Mr. Gunjan Dadure and team under the guidance of Prof. M.M. Bhoomkar was selected for the zonal competition, Avishkar 2008-09, at Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University during 8-10 January 2009.
Mr. Amey Barde and Abhishek Manekar, under the guidance of Prof.Mrs. S.S. Sane, bagged the ISTE-NIT Kozhikode National Award for the Best B.Tech. Project in Mechanical and Production Engineering for the project entitled “Design and Manufacturing of Sterling Engine.”
The team of young technocrats of T.E. MECHANICAL, Mr. Sanket Jodve, Mr. Sushant Kamble, Mr. Rakesh Yelgat, Mr. Hrishikesh kamble won the First prize in the Robot Competition solution’2010 organised by AIT, Pune. The team also won Second prize in Eaxcelesior 2010 organised by SCOE, Pune, Third prize for the same event in Versatalia 2010 organised by PVG’s COET, Pune.
Industrial visit
S.E. Mechanical students along with Prof. Dr. N.S. Walimbe and A. P. Kaldate visited the Mallikarjun Distilleries Pvt. Ltd. Babargaon Tal: Gangapur Dist: Aurangabad on dated 31st July, 2009.
New Appointments
The departmental intellectual strength has increased with induction of Prof. S. V. Gawali as Assistant Professor and Prof. S. A. Yevale as lecturer in mechanical Engineering w.e f. Sept 2009, also Mrs. S. S. Sane has joined as Prof. of Mech. Engg. on 1st Sept.2009
Involvement of supporting staff:
The Smooth, effective and efficient working of the department is a result of team efforts of teaching as well as supporting staff. Mr. S. D. Shingate, Mr. R. R. Badkas, Mr. A. D. Chinni and Mr. S. N. Gunjal Mr. S.V. Amle have been rendering their best efforts to keep the working environment healthy. The supporting team is expected to be strengthened further with the merging of Workshop with the Dept. of Mech. Engg. Mr. R. M. Kanse is making genuine efforts for maintaining the necessary harmony.
