Since the year 2002, the Computer Society of India (CSI) Nashik Chapter gives away "Late Sou. Shevantabai Shirode Yashokirti" sponsored award to honor an individual from IT field for his/her struggle against adverse economical conditions and has excelled in the field of IT. This is unique award and Nashik chapter is the first
chapter to announce such an award. This award is declared by one of our life member Shri. Avinash Shirode in the memory of his mother Late Sou. Shevantabai Shirode.
The chapter invites nominations from an individual / organization in Maharashtra. The chapter constitutes a committee to scrutinize the nominations received, and
recommend the name of the person to whom the award is to be given. I (Prof. Dr. D B Phatak) am glad to inform you that the selection committee has recommended Prof. G V
Garje, Chairman, BOS in Computer Engineering, University of Pune for the Yashokirti Puraskar for the year 2008.
The Yashokirti Puraskar has been presented to Prof. G V Garje in the valedictory function of the national seminar on IT Enabled Education Transformation (IEET)
organized by the CSI Nashik Chapter held on Saturday 13th December 2008 at the Ashoka Institute of Management and Technology (AIMT), Nashik at the hands of the
Chief Guest of the function Prof. Dr. D B Phatak, IIT Powai, Mumbai.
