About IE (I):
The Institution of Engineers (India) [IEI] is a statutory body established in 1920 and incorporated by Royal Charter in 1935 to promote and advance engineering and technology. It is the largest multi-disciplinary professional body of engineers in India, encompassing fifteen engineering disciplines and having a Corporate membership of over two lakh. IEI has been serving the nation for more than nine decades. Its headquarters is located in Kolkata, with a national presence through more than a hundred Centres, as well as several Overseas Chapters, Fora, and organizational units. IEI has been recognized as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (SIRO) by the Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India.
The Department of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering established the IE (I) Students’ chapter in the year 2023-2024. The members of IE (I) Students’ Chapter are motivated to take part in a wide range of technical activities. These activities help the students to develop multidimensional personality as well as achieve a more successful career.
Aim:
The aim of the IE(I) Students’ Chapter is to inspire students to pursue continuous learning while enhancing not only their academic knowledge but also their overall personality and professional development.
Objectives:
- To enhance awareness and understanding of emerging technologies in the field of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering.
- To help students work together, learn new things, and build leadership skills by organizing workshops, seminars, and expert sessions that help develop both technical skills through hands-on training.
- To support career development by providing networking opportunities and professional guidance by establishing a strong network between industries and professional societies.
Outcome:
Students will able to
- Apply leadership and teamwork skills effectively in collaborative engineering projects to contribute to group performance.
- Analyze and interpret technical concepts and information gained from workshops, seminars, and projects to solve engineering problems.
- Apply professional ethics, values, and engineering practices in real-world engineering situations and projects
- Apply knowledge gained from IE(I) technical articles and conferences to academic or project work.
