International conference on Gender Equality & Women Empowerment

The 6th International Conference on Gender Equality and Women Empowerment (ICGEWE-2026) was successfully organized on 8th and 9th March 2026, marking the occasion of International Women’s Day. The conference was jointly hosted by PVGCOETM, Pune, in collaboration with Savitribai Phule Pune University.

The primary objective of the conference was to provide a dynamic platform for researchers, academicians, and students to present and exchange ideas on gender equality, women empowerment, and social development. The event was conducted under the esteemed guidance of Dr. Suresh Gosavi (Vice Chancellor, SPPU), Dr. Parag Kalkar (Pro-Vice Chancellor, SPPU), Mr. Rajendra Borhade (President, PVG), Mr. Sunil Redeker (Director, PVG), and Prof. Rajendra Kaduskar (Director, PVGCOETM).

The organizing committee comprised Dr. Prasanna Shete as Convener, Dr. Geeta Shinde as Co-Convener, Dr. Yogesh Thakare as Coordinator, along with Prof. Sangita Bavkar and Prof. Usha Walke as Co-Coordinators.

Dr. Parag Kalkar, the Chief Guest, highlighted the critical role of gender equality and women empowerment in achieving sustainable development. The conference featured insightful keynote addresses by Dr. Ratnamala Arya, Mrs. Gautami Bhor, and Mr. Vinod Bodhankar, who shared valuable perspectives on women empowerment, education, sustainability, and social transformation.

A total of 45 research papers were presented during the conference, with outstanding contributions being recognized through awards made a significant impact by fostering awareness and encouraging research in the domains of gender equality and women empowerment. Selected papers have been published in Scopus Indexed International Journal of Humanities Education USA. ICGEWE-2026 The program concluded with a formal vote of thanks.
