Description of activity: Orientation to various professional societies such as IETE, IEI, IEEE, IET & ISTE and its impact on career development.
Objectives:
- To understand the role of professional societies in shaping a successful engineering career beyond academic qualifications.
- To highlight opportunities for continuous learning, networking, mentorship, and professional growth through professional bodies.
- To encourage students to build a professional identity and lifelong engagement with the engineering community.
- To share real-world experiences and insights on how active participation in professional societies can create career opportunities.
- To inspire students to engage, lead, contribute, and grow through professional societies such as IET, IEEE, IE(I), IETE and ISTE.
Session Highlights:
- Felicitation of Dr S R Patil Sir on being elected as the Chairman of the IETE, Pune Centre at the hands of Chief Guest Dr Madhuri Joshi.
- Inauguration of IETE Student Forum at PVG’s COETM, Pune
- Chief-Guest shed light on why Engineers should join professional societies such as IETE, IET,IEI, IEEE etc. Madam emphasized the perks such as visibility, networking, technical upgrades that are associated with these memberships.
