Objectives:
- To promote, encourage and co-ordinate student association, out-of-classroom learning, sports and social activities.
- To inculcate technical skills through technical activities like paper presentation, seminars, workshops etc.
- To develop soft-skills as well as organizational skills.
Association Structure and Activities:
To achieve the motive ITSA has committee formed for every academic year for the smooth conduction of various activities. Students from First to Final year of Information Technology department are involved in these activities.
ITSA was reformed in the year 2017-18 by the final year students of Information Technology Department. Previously, it was a joint venture of Computer Engineering and Information Technology Students, known as ASCI (Association of Students of Computer and IT) formed in 2004-05. The sole purpose in forming this association was to bring students together and to provide them the platform to nurture their talent.
Thus ITSA was formed to groom up the students’ innovation, talent and skills.

BollyQuiz and LogoQuiz | It was the first event organized for the academic year 2021-22. The host of the event was Aanchal Agarwal from BE IT. Chetna Randive organized this fun event. She conducted an online quiz on the Kahoot platform. . In BollyQuiz questions were based on Bollywood movies and LogoQuiz consisted of different logos and you have to identify the correct one. |
Introduction to Competitive Coding | It was the first technical event arranged by ITSA in this academic year. The basic idea for organizing this event was to introduce what is coding to the students which will be beneficial for all the students. It was conducted by Gaurav Khairnar from BE IT, who is experienced in coding. He introduced different platforms for coding and gave a basic idea about what topics are included in them. He demonstrated one example to all the students. All the students of the IT Department from SE to BE have participated. Later a Kahoot quiz was organized to test the knowledge of attendees and all the students participated with joy and enthusiasm. Winners of the Kahoot Quiz were: Tanvi(SE), Harsh Ekbote(SE), and Saurabh(BE). |
Web Wizards | ITSA had organized an event called Web Wizards which was conducted virtually. The event timeline was for 72 hours from 1st October to 4th October in which participants had to submit their creative websites. The submissions were taken on the Google Drive platform. A total of 19 students participated from SE and TE. There was 1 Winner and 1 Runner-Up from SE and TE. |
Mock Placements Drive | Association of Computer Engineering Students, Google Developer Student Club PVGCOET, and Information Technology Students Association came together with an exciting event for the year 2021-22, Mock Placements Drive.
This event was organized for students from SE to BE of all departments. The main aim was to make aware of the actual interview selection process of campus placements and test their skills and give the necessary feedback. It was completely a free-of-cost event. The drive took place in 3 stages: Aptitude Test + Optional Coding Test Technical Interview HR Interview |
Photography Contest | On the event of Diwali ITSA had organized a photography contest for all the students. |
Social cause event – Donation Drive | The Information Technology Students’ Association (ITSA) organized a donation drive for a social cause. A donation drive was organized for Matoshree Old Age Home located at Karvenagar, Pune. The primary objective was to help the Senior citizens in all the possible ways the students could. Everyone was given 5 days for donations. Donations were collected by Rujuta Sarlashkar, Head of Team Finance through Google Pay mode. The total donations collected at the end of the drive were around Rs. 13,000/- contributed voluntarily by the students and faculty members. The visit was held on the 21st of January 2022. Due to covid – 19 restrictions, it was decided that only a few members of the ITSA committee will visit old age home. ITSA observed great responses from students and faculty members for raising funds for this donation drive. |
Let’s Build with Android |
ITSA had arranged a 2 day session on “Android”. It was conducted by Ashok Chaudhari an esteemed alumni of PVG COET. He gave basic idea about what is Android and Kotlin language on the first day of the workshop. He demonstrated one example to all the students. The session lasted for around 2 hours on both the days. The basic idea for organising this event was to introduce new and upcoming technology of Android with Kotlin which will be beneficial for all the students. |
Fiesta’22 – Technical event, Treasure Hunt |
It was ITSA’s first offline event after the pandemic. This event was a combination of a technical event and a treasure hunt. Technical sessions were delivered by students from BE IT. Technical session topics were –
1. Preparing for higher studies 2. How to earn 17 LPA: study go work Japan 3. Placement orientation The treasure hunt was organized followed by a technical session was a really fun event. All-year participants enjoyed themselves a lot and Third Year participants celebrated victory. Summing up this event was an amazing event with a combination of knowledge and enjoyment. |

WordPress Workshop | ITSA arranged a workshop on 10 th November to make students aware about WordPress platform. The training was held from home on an online platform from 1:00-2.30 PM for 1.5 hours. The workshop was conducted by Shreya Mahajan and Sakshi Chidrewar from BE IT. Students from Third Year and Second Year of Information Technology department participated in the workshop. From basic concepts to publishing their own website, all parts were included. It was a good hands-on experience.
The main objective behind the training workshop on WordPress was to get the delegates learn the essential ins and outs of designing an attractive website – from scratch. |

Cloud Computing |
An Alumni Connect event on 28 th November. The speaker for this event was Akshay Kokane. He is a java developer at one trust in Atlanta,GA . The basic idea to arrange this event was to give students more idea about Cloud Computing technology which is widely used in
industry currently. The event was held virtually through Google meet platform and the whole session lasted for 2 hrs from 9:30 am to 11.40am. The students participated in the event were from second year and Third Year from all the departments of our college. |
Game of Codes | A technical event ‘Game Of Codes’. It was a weekly coding competition for all the coding enthusiasts. It was an interesting challenge among all the students. It started from 28 th January and was held for 3 weeks. Each week had a different theme and it was disclosed on every Monday. Thursday, Friday, Saturday was the time given to write the code. There were 3 questions per group. The TE and BE together were clubbed in same category and SE in other category. 6 weekly winners (3 from TE/BE and 3 from SE) were announced and were given a special mention through ITSA’s Instagram account.There were total 65 participants and all Department students participated actively. The competition was held on HackerRank platform where the problem statements were uploaded. |

Soft Skills Workshop | ITSA arranged a Soft Skills Workshop for students on 27 nd March. The host of the event was Reena Athalye(Delivery Manager, e-zest). Our speaker is a behavioral Skills Trainer & Facilitator.
She conducted an online session on Presentation Skills. It was hosted virtually on Google meet. The basic idea to arrange this event was to make students know about resume building, interview skills and group discussions. The students participating in the event were from first year to final year from all the departments of our college. The main objective behind the event was to give students practical knowledge about interviews, group discussions and tips about resume building. |
Research Paper Publishing | ITSA arranged a one to one informative session for students on 22 nd March. The host of the event was Dr. S.D. Thepade,Ph.D.(Comp).He conducted an online session on the topic Research Paper Writing and Publishing. It was hosted on an online meeting platform called Google meet.
The students participating in the event were from first year to final year from all the departments of our college. The main objective behind the event was to give students knowledge about the Research papers and publishing. |
