Technical Events organized by Electrical Engineering Department during last 5 years
Academic Year 2025-26

- A hands-on workshop on ‘Auto CAD Electrical’ was organized for second-year Electrical Engineering students during 27th and 28th February 2026. The workshop was conducted by our BE Electrical students – Pushparaj Patil, Mr. Prabhakar Bhosale & Mr. Aditya Kamble. A total of 40 students actively participated in this workshop. The program was organized by Prof. Suresh Yamalla along with EESA Team.

- The internship evaluation of third-year students from the Electrical Department was conducted on Friday, 20 February 2026. Alumni of the department — Onkar Londhe (2016 batch), Narendra Gosavi (2012 batch), and Amit Devdhar (2006 batch) — along with Shravan Tamaskar from Kalyani Powertrain, provided valuable support for the evaluation. Dr. Sunil Gaikwad organized the entire program.

- A two days hands-on workshop on ‘Accelerating EV Design : Concept to Code with MBD and MATLAB’ was organized for BE Electrical students during 15th and 16th October 25. The workshop was organized in association with MathWorks, Design Tech Systems Pvt Ltd. @ 40 students attended the workshop. Dr. S. T. Gaikwad coordinated the activity.

- A hands-on training on ‘Arduino Microcontroller Applications’ was organized for second-year Electrical Engineering students with the help of Dolphin Labs, Pune during 9th to 11th October 2025. A total of 70 students actively participated in this training. The program was organized by Prof. Suresh Yamalla.

- A Parent-Teacher Meeting was organized in the Electrical Engineering Department on Saturday, 27th September 2025. Parents of a 60 students from all the three years participated in it. Dr. Mangesh S. Thakare, Head of the Department introduced and provided information about various departmental activities. Dean of IIC, Dr. Naresh Jaiswal, shared details regarding student employment initiatives and training programs. In the capacity of Controller of Examinations, Prof. Omkar Pawaskar, explained the revised examination pattern. Principal Dr. Manoj Tarambale informed about the various facilities offered by the college for the overall growth of the students. The parents expressed great satisfaction with the education provided in Electrical Engineering and the overall development of their children. Dr. Mandar Bhavalkar proposed the vote of thanks, and Prof. Radha Ranjekar conducted the proceedings.
- Total 37 second-year students of the Electrical Engineering Department participated in a three-day workshop on Cloud Computing and IBM Cloud Services. This workshop was organized under the CSR funding scheme of IBM during 21st to 23rd July 2025.
- A workshop on Agentic AI was organized in collaboration with the company Progression School on 18th July 2025. Total 93 second and third-year students of the Electrical Engineering Department participated in this workshop.
- On 16th July 2025, 45 final-year students of the Electrical Engineering Department participated in a workshop on Agentic AI. This workshop was organized in collaboration with the company Progression School.
Academic Year 2024-25

A one day workshop on Python Programming was conducted for SE Electrical Students on 22nd March 2025. Our TE Students Sujay Jawarkar and Pranav Wankhade conducted the training

- A one day workshop on Drone Technology was conducted for BE Electrical Students on 28th February 2025. Dr. Vaibhav Khatavkar conducted the workshop.

- 5 Days Hands on Training Program on Residential Electrical Wiring and Design using Autocad and Practical Fitting” was organized for students of BE Electrical during 21st – 25th January 2025. Prof. Vishal Tathe conducted the training.

- ATAL FDP on Sustainable Development through Renewable Energy, SDG and Smart Cities during 9th -14th Dec 2024 and deliver a session of SDGs and Renewable energy was organized by Electrical Department, PVG’s College of Engineering & Technology and G.K. Pate Wani Institute of Management, Pune Dr. M.S. Thakare worked as coordinator and M.P. Bhawalkar worked as co-coordinator for the same. There were 10 expert sessions conducted by faculty form IITs and Industry on various aspects of SDGs, Renewable energy . Hands-on training was given to 44 participants of the workshop. Prof. U. B. Sarode, Prof. Mrs. P. R. Khatri, Dr. Mrs. U. S. Thakar, Prof. Mrs. R. A. Ranjekar, Prof. S. H. Yamalla and Mrs. S. V. Ambarkar worked as organizing committee members.

- Two Days Hands on Workshop on Arduino Microcontroller was organized for TE Electrical Students during 8th – 9th August 2024, in association with Dolphin Labs, Pune. Mrs. Chittaranjan Das guided the students in various experiments. Prof. Mrs. Radha Ranjekar coordinated the activity under the guidance of Dr. M. S. Thakare. Total 49 students participated in the activity.

- Indian Society for Technical Education ( ISTE) approved 5 days Faculty Development Program on Emerging Trends in Energy Systems was oragnsied during 10th June to 14th June 2024. Dr. M.S. Thakare worked as convener, Dr. M.P. Bhawalkar worked as coordinator and Prof. U.B. Sarode and Prof R.A. Ranjekar worked as co-coordinators for the FDP. Eleven eminent experts from academia and industry conducted the sessions during the FDP.

- BE project review from industry experts, who are alumni of the department, was organized on 26th April 2025. Mayur Gaikwad, Electromech Engineers Associates, Mr. Mandar Kulkarni – CG Power and Industrial Solutions, Mr. Soumitra Kunte, Mr. Pratik Gokhale – The Insurance Buddy, conducted critical review and gave valuable inputs to the students. Dr. Mrs. U. S. Thakar coordinated the activity.
- Spoken tutorial activity on “Scilab” was organized for B.E. Electrical students during first semester, as ICT Tool for subject ACS. 51 students out of 54 completed the certification program successfully. Prof. Mrs. R. A. Ranjekar coordinated the activity.
- Vlab training sessions were conducted for SE, TE and BE students during July 2024 – May 2025 for subjects ADE, EMMI, MS and EM/c-II, EM/c-I, NA, NMCP, PS-II and SGP. For Electrical Engineering, total No. of users in training were 326 and total usage was 2415. Prof. Mrs. P. R. Khatri, Dr. S. T. GaikwadProf. U. B. Sarode Dr. Mrs. U. S. Thakar, , Prof. S. Pawaskar, Prof. Mrs G. M. Karve, and Prof. S. H. Yamalla conducted these trainings. Prof. Mrs. P. R. Khatri coordinated overall activity.
- Department Orientation for newly admitted FE students was organized on Saturday, 14th September 2024. During this HoD Dr. M. S. Thakare guided the students on Opportunities in Electrical Engineering. EESA representatives, Kaushal Vetal, Vaibhav Kamble and Amey Deshpande briefed about EESA activities. After that, Prof. Mrs. R. A. Ranjekar, Prof. O. S. Pawaskar, Prof. Mrs. G. M. Karve and Mr. Shibu Rajan led the students through various laboratories giving a brief introduction about the department. Prof. S. H. Yamalla coordinated the activity.

- Internship Evaluation by Alumni and Industrial Experts – TE Electrical students’ Internships were evaluated on 22nd February 2025. Our alumni Mr. Ketak Katarial, Mr. Durgesh Vibhandik and Ms. Amruta Amadekar along with Mr. Vinayak Shinde from MSEDCL evaluated students on various parameters and guided the students for future. S. T. Gaikwad coordinated the activity.

- The evaluation of mini projects done by second year students was carried out on 12th April 2025. The alumina of the department, Mr. Prathamesh Patwardhan, Mr. Pundalik Mahale, Mr. Chetan Patil and Ms. Rasika Adhav evaluated the projects and gave guidance to students. Prof. S. H. Yamall coordinated the activity.
Academic Year 2023-24

- An Inauguration of Energy Club and launch of Value – added Course on “Sustainable Development” was done on 28th August 2023. The Solar Man of India – Dr. Chetan Singh Solanki delivered a talk on “Climate Changes and Awareness of Harvesting Solar Energy” on this occasion. The club is formed in association with MSEDCL. Mr. Santosh Patni from MSEDCL also addressed the gathering.

- Department of Electrical Engineering along with Energy Club celebrated World EV day 2023 by
inaugurating “Green Electric Two Wheeler Solar PV Charging Station” on 9th September 2023 at the hands of Dr. Dnyaneshwar Mulay, Former High Commissioner of India to Maldives.

- Hands on Workshop on Introduction to AI and Application of AI Tools was organized by Electrical Department in association with A Consultancy on 26th August 2023. Dr. Amey Pangarkar, our alumnus of pass-out batch 2011, conducted the workshop.
- A hands on training program on “Fundamentals of Model Based Design using MATLAB” was conducted for BE Electrical Students on 23rd and 25th October 2023 in association with Mathworks and DesignTech Systems.
- Half day Python Training program was organized by EESA for SE and TE Electrical Students on 31st October 2023. The students Mr. Umesh Patil and Mr. Dhanaji Ramtirthe from TE Electrical conducted the program.
- A Python Training program was organized by for SE Electrical Students on 11th – 12th January 2024. Mr. Abhishek Gavare and Mr. Shahuraj Salve – students of B.E. Electrical, conducted the program.
- 5 days Hands on Training workshop on “Design and Prototyping of Transformer (1ϕ and 3ϕ)” for students of Electrical Engineering during 4th Feb to 8th Feb 2024 in association with Techno Electrical, Pune. Total 64 students participated in this workshop (SE-25 & TE-39). During this workshop students procured the material from the market. They designed the transformer with relevant calculations and fabricated. Thereafter students done testing in the laboratory. In all total 7 transformers were fabricated (4 – single phase and 3 – three phase)
- Department of Electrical Engineering, PVG’s COET & GKPIOM Pune has organized a three days hands on training program on “Application of Ansys Maxwell Software in Electrical Engineering” in association with Arkane Infosolutions Ltd., during 28th February to 01st March 2024. The resource person of the training program includes Dr. Kartikesh Jha, ARK Infosolutions Ltd. , Dr. Ajaysekhar Reddy, ARK Infosolutions Ltd. , Mr. Mandar Kulkarni Belrise Industries Ltd., Ms. Rasika Adhav (Proud Alumni), Belrise Industries Ltd., Dr. M. P. Bhawalkar,, Prof S. H. Yamalla, and our current BE students Hemant, Shruti, Swaliha, Prathamesh, Adityawardhan and Rishikesh. Thanks to Hon. Management for giving whole hearted support.

- Webinar on ” IEEE Membership Awareness and Recent Trends in Power Sector Transformations was rganised by PES-IAS Chapter IEEE Pune Section and Electrical Department PVG’s College of Engineering and Technology & GK Pate Institute of Management on 30th November 2022. Dr. Surekha Deshmukh, Chair PICC, Domain Consultant, Utilities, Tata Consultancy Services and Dr. Mandar Bhawalkar – Chair PES IAS Chapter IEEE Pune Section – IEEE conducted the session.
- Webinar on Practical aspects in Design and Commission of LT HT electrical Installations and Electrical Safety measures was organised by PES-IAS Chapter IEEE Pune Section and, PVG’s College of Engineering and Technology & GK Pate Wani Institute of Management on 2nd December 2022. – Mr. Sameer Deodhar, SAMEER ELECTRO SYSTEMS PVT. LTD and CEO Sameer Group delivered the session.
- A workshop on Python Programming was organized for SE Electrical Students on 19th October 2022 The workshop was conducted by Parth Vaze and Shardul Karanjekar our proud student from BE Electrical.
- A three days Hands on Training on Arduino was organized for SE Electrical students in association with Dolphin Labs during 24th – 26th April 2023. Prof. S. H. Yamalla coordinated the activity.
- A three days Hands on Training on IoT Applications using ESP32 boards was organized for TE Electrical students in association with Dolphin Labs during 24th – 26th April 2023. Prof. Mrs. R. A. Ranjekar coordinated the activity.
Academic Year 2021-22


- National Level Project Competition – Versatalia was organized by Electrical Engineering Department jointly with Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, IT Engineering Department in association with EESA, TESA and ITSA. The competition was Sponsored by PES-IAS Chapter, IEEE Pune Section. There were total 6 tracks namely AIML, EV, Embedded Systems, IoT, Robotics and Others. Prizes worth Rs. 1,00,000/- were distributed among winners of six tracks. Total 135 project groups participated in the competition. First prize winner of EV track got the job offer from KPIT. Many students got the opportunities for the internship. Industry experts offered sponsorship for certain projects.
- Two days workshop on Project Management for TE Electrical students was organized by Electrical Engineering Department on 23rd and 24th April 2021. The workshop was conducted by Mr Sameer Kulkarni.
- Two days workshop on Solar Photovoltaic Systems for SE Electrical students was organized by Electrical Engineering Department on 23rd and 24th April 2021. The workshop was conducted by Adinath Funde and Dr. Avinash Rokade. Hands on session on solar PV system helped students in understanding the system.
- 2 Days Student’s Training Program on “Hands on with Arduino” for SE Electrical Students was organized by Electrical Engineering Department on 12th & 13th April 2022. Students learnt and programmed Arudino board and also developed simple applications using sensors and Arduino boards.
- 3 days Workshop on IoT Applications in Electrical Engineering was organized for TE Electrical Students during 11th to 13th April 2022. Five sessions on various aspects of IoT by eminent experts from industry were conducted for students.

- Webinar on Microgrid Technologies was organized by PES-IAS Chapter IEEE Pune Section, Electrical Department PVG’s College of Engineering and Technology & GK Pate Institute of Management and Eaton India Innovation Centre Pune on 1st October 2021. Amit Kolge, Ms. Debasmita Das, and Ms. Chinmayi Mannem from Eaton India Innovation Centre Pune were the speakers.

- A webinar on “Operating Modern Power System under Uncertainty” by Mr. DeanSharafi, Head of System Management, Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO), Perth Australia was organized by EED, PVG’s COET in association with PES / IAS Chapter, IEEE, Pune on 22nd May 2021.
- A One week online Faculty Development Program on Advances in Electrical Engineering was organized by EED, PVG’s COET in association with PES/IAS Chapter, IEEE, Pune, during 8th – 13th June 2020. More than 225 participants from various states of India, attended the FDP. Dr. Mrs. V. A. Joshi and Dr. Mrs. G. A. Vaidya worked as Conveners, Dr. Mrs. S. R. Deshmukh and Dr. M. P. Bhawalkar worked as Co-ordinators and Dr. Mrs. U. S. Thakar, Prof. Mrs. R. A. Ranjekar and Prof. O. S. Pawaskar worked as Organizing Committee members.
Academic Year 2019-20

- A half day Distinguished Lecturer Program on ‘Current Interruption in Atmospheric Air’ by Dr. David Peelo, Consultant and Former Switching Specialist at BC Hydro (Canada), was organized on 29th January 2020. The program was organized by EESA in association with PES-IAS Chapter, IEEE, Pune. Around 100 students and faculty members within and outside the institute attended the program.
- A Half day workshop on MATLAB with Embedded Coder was organized on 14th October 2019 by department in association with EESA. Mr. Pawankumar Fakatkar and Mr. Deb Singdeo from Mathworks, Pune were resource persons. Total 62 students from TE and BE and 4 faculty members attended the program. Prof. Mrs. U. S. Thakar and Prof. Mrs. R. A. Ranjekar coordinated the activity.
- One day workshop on Ethical Hacking was organized by EESA in association with Newton’s Apple on 21st Septemeber 2019. Ms. Aishwarya Gore and Mr. Mihir Paygude – both alumni of the department, worked as resource persons. Total 55 students attended the workshop.
- A Half day workshop on Tariff Structure and Implementation of kVAh Tariff in Maharashtra was organized by EESA in association with PES-IAS Chapter, IEEE, Pune on 18th September 2019. Mr. Santosh Patni (Deputy Executive Engineer at MSEDCL) Mr. Yogendra Talware (Director Strom Energy Pvt. Ltd Pune) and Mr. Narendra Duvedi (Executive director at SAS Powertech Pvt. Ltd. Pune) were resource persons. 63 students and 15 faculty members attended the workshop.
- A One day workshop on Artificial Intelligence and Deep Learning was organized by EESA on 29th March 2019. Dr. Mrs. Rahee Walambe and Dr. Mrs. Surekha Deshmukh were resource persons. More than 68 students and 6 faculty members attended the workshop.
Academic Year 2018-19

- “MATLAB for Electrical Engineering” Workshop was organized for PG students during 30th August 2018 to 1st Sept 2018. Mr. Hrishikesh Mehta was the resource person, Prof. Mrs. G. M. Karve was the coordinator for this workshop.
